this was my adventure to Germany pictorial, it both started and ended in Belfast international. who knew they gave people 5 year passports? so been in carrickfergus since watching luke be potty trained- for a very very detailed review of how its going vist claire&marks blog- but be warned its very very very detailed- gross almost.

Well i started this blog a year ago so its happy birthday to wolfestephenj.blogspot.com- because this time last year i was just going to start im Limavady- and this time next week should have started a proper art college... doing industrial(product), interior, furniture design. And so this is the last weekend before summers over. So this summer its been - finished limavady,weeks of EVERWOOD! neighnours and Ed.. followed by week in bloomfield(www.bye2006.co.uk/bloomfield)

and then im not sure what happened between bloomfield and adventure camp- more than likely it was Everwood,Neighbours and Ed, but then we (being emma and I ) decided to go to Adventure camp in bushmills as leaders, no no wait- just looking through my photos it was bloomers- then had some germans over for a few days- and then went to New Horizon for a couple of days, was really really good. think it was only a couple of days from n.h to adv camp.but anyways back to Adv.Camp only decided to go a day maybe before- such a good week also, such amazing kids/teenagers/peers watever they were..

its a little hazy between camp and sion team, think that was the next major event- ummm yeah it was- which was super dee dooper good (need more words other than 'good') but was great to do stuff with own church and with own young people.

yeah think after sion i managed to pass my driving test- yea! 3 years- and 3 attempts- but got it!

also been making a doorbell for the summer project for belfast- mmm not goin to put photos up, its all good in concept- but neither works of looks good.

so thats kind of it- thats been my summer...and so now that Everwood has finished- and so has Ed think its kinda time to go to uni

This was the competion i didnt enter- but took the guidelines used them for my final major project in limavady(awww limavady) and the results have finally come out!!the comp. was to design a cart for the homeless that then doubled as a shelter- hence the title of 'shelter on a cart'.this is the winner, and below it is the couple of my final ideas- i have a whole book of ideas- quite proud that a)alot of my other ideas were used by better designers than me and b) my final 'high visablity' concept i havent seen another design like it- (although i have seen the car cover concept used- but only after i had done it!)

theres some really great ideas -on designboom.com and look for the shelter in a cart results.also just a really good website in general and fills many a hour of my life...

and if mum and dad are looking at this blog while there in America - hi

just finished my time im Limavady- had a brilliant time, and will miss people alot more than i thought i would- i will post more pictures of the work from our show, and possibly some of the people later.

i got the lights i made professionaly photographed and the photos look really well, thanks to emma (my tutor- even though shel never see this)
one is made from plastic knives and forks melted, and the others just duskmaks

gettin my portfolio ready- got a letter today that my interview is on fri 21st april.. bit scary

was at my big sis' this weekend ,was great.. but seen loads of films (3)

watched Hero- which is like Crouching Tiger and House of Flying Daggers, was ok, not the best film out of the 3 of them, watch House of Flying Daggers if you want something from that genre. was a good concept that the same story is told from 3 or 4 points of view, and every point of view had a differnt colour. but never really got into it, dont think that i even saw the end properly... but was just ok..

then i saw citizen kane (was on RTE at 130-330am) , "The Greatest Film Ever Made"-empire, and it was very very good, although all black and white, still felt like it could have been made today. think i may have lets its reputation percede it, but still was a really good show!!

then chris got us in to Munich (for free- with some free popcorn) on saturday night- and it too was a really really good show. was all about the 17970's olympics and the Isreallies and the Palastiens... was really good... and this group is gathered to gether to avenge the deaths of the athleties the Palestiens had killed.

so theres my mini- film reviews.

also seen some hard hitting story telling about a small scotish town, and the problems faced by old people who cant get out of the house when it snows and were boat trips are cancelled due to storms etc..

i thought there was much need for a blog, and i found an IT room thats open access, although does smell like wee, but you eventually get used to it.

was thinkin of things to make my blog more interesting, and clearly gettin readers participation doesnt work (unsucessfully attempts include- name chris&alices tortoises, and try and name ginger actors) and realised that the only interesting thing in my life(the only thing in my life rite now) is my art and designs,

so was designin luggage last module, was good, there are pictures to follow, but made it a spherical etc. but havent got pics yet,

but this module im making lights from 'unorthdox' and 'unushual' materials

playin cards, put together with slits, and no glue, lookin back i really should have used glue, cause it feel apart soon after this photo, but was more a challenge to see how big i could get it, not really for art....

dust masks (quite proud of this one)

but only working at this brief for a couple of weeks, have another 4ish weeks to work at it, so should be more lamps to come

in general loving the course so much , done ucas etc last week for next year- am going to be a product designer when i grow up.. applied for belfast and should get in God willing....

this week iv been moving flats. moved from 15main street "Lydnsey funeral services" to the mews- like privatley owned halls of residence... so took around 10 trecks to bring my stuff across, including
-en mass of art materials(paints,brushes,tissue paper broken glass)
-full size white board
-2 wall sized map
-small libaray
-cookin stuff

Sausage rolls- traitots of the food world!!

On monday I got betrayed, by what are ushually so faithfull a friend- sausage rolls!
i have kinda lived off sausage rolls for the first 3 months of uni- there great so versatile- eat them warm eat them cold, eat some warm then wait to the others cool down and eat them cold, You dont need knives and forks for them or saucepans to cook them! also there alot heathier than sausages, as they have pastry round them!

but on monday nite i managed to give myself food poisonin because of them - dont know how- they must have been off or something who knows?? but was soo sick all monday night and then bed ridden all tuesday- and missed my first day of college.

so i can never eat sausage rolls again(well not untill i cant think of anything for dinner- or there on special offer. but not for a while cause even looking at the picture of them is making me slightly quesy!) so hada rough week this week cause i was sick , and ate soup alot.

was in rome two weeks ago with my art class- kindof like a really expensive class trip. Was so good- heres just a few of my pictures- theres loads more photos, but most of them were really blurry and out-of-focus- really photography-not my thing.

saw lots of art, some of it really galleries really weren't worth it, but, go see Bernini's sculptures in Borghese Gallery- next time your in rome.

hi just back from seeing 'the lion, witch and the wardrope' was very very good, wasnt a huge massive epic (was quite pleased it wasnt) told the book well- but read the books.

but during the film i was struck by the amount of dwarf actors there were, then thought more about the amount of dwarf actor/actress' there are in most movies-
thinking throuh some of the biggest movies-

star wars en mass of dwarf actors- ewoks, r2d2....

im not against dwarf actors- it seems like the only way that vertically challanged people can get a job (circus maybe?) but its just that there cant be that many dwarfish people... but there are loads of gingers- try and name me a famous ginger actor

these are my two nephews sittin on chris&alices two tortoises(for images of chris see below)

we have names for the nephews (reuben and luke) but chris and alice havent got any names for the two tortoises..... so we want your suggestions for names.

we soo should have done the same thing when chris&alice were deciding what to call reuben. also suggestions of the correct spelling of tortoises will be welcome.

they are two lady tortoises to help the naming process.

wow two posts in two days

well that last post was to tell people about what was going on that night, but this is more a weekly summery.

finally finished the self portrature brief, glad its over, was up till 9-5 in college then 5 till 1ish- 2ish back home doin work all last week, survived on mars bars, lucazade and barley sugars!!!wo-ho sugar high!!!!booo sugar low! but got all my pictures and paintings etc put up no probs, dont know wheather i passed r failed till after hallowean, so that was all good- what wasnt so good was having to spend £7 on 1 paintbrush!! 1 brush!! i can(&do) can eat for a week on£7!!(also had to spend £10 on a sketch book- but not so upset about that, cause ill use that.)
so once we put up on thursday our next brief was leaked out on wednesday, and officially given to us on the friday!!

any one else see the jonathan ross show tonight? id like to appologise profusley to dave ramsey for laughing at his introduction of the word 'book' to baptist youth circles, stephen fry said its cool- and we have to believe him, 'cause hes well smart!

also the magic numbers played on jonathan ross, there 2 sets of brothers and sisters-unlike the mamas and papas(who there continually getting compared to) they were just 1 married couple+2 randomers- me and dad had a debate about this, and i lost.

am just back from the derg, (thats castlederg to anyone not from the west) my friend james was speaking at a youthclub there, think its pretty new. was real good, james spoke real well. think we got roped in to come again another week, and lead a weekend sometime in march.

its been roughly two weeks since if last bloged (if thats the right blogging terminology ) would like to say alots happend- but that wouldnt b true... well last week we had workshops not classes( a concept that no one but ppl go to my college/uni/tech understands, so ill not bother explainin) 'cause the famous artist Mary 'so famous there no pictures of my work on internet to show stephens fans' - cousins walker- shes a textiles artist- 'paints with thread' was ok got to sow lots. but i got a day off, and decided to visit the bright lights of belfast- got the bus to belfast then too carrick- quiet impressed I got there all by myself! and stayed wit big sis. then i went into belfast, met jonny stewart accidenlty comin off the bus, so we went round 2nd hand shops and primark together (both students) and the rusty zip - such a class shop- but just to look at and all the pretty colours. then i took jonny to the ulster museum to visit the royal acadamy show( i think thats what i was lookin at?) but was way too hungry to apprechiate it, the chicken tikka sub. was the best thing i seen that day.. (*the exhibiton was good, but just eat first then go get cultured.) then i met up with another friend sean, who took me to his maths building- which is possibly the most boring building in exsistance, so ugly i cried alittle.
then i came back to nice peacefull limavady.
thursday was good, 3 of us wathched 'the goonies' - not part of my childhood, but clearly part of theirs, but was gd- pity there was never a sequal eh claire thompson and kerry aiken, jim couldnt fix that one?? from then till now nothing

much has been happenin since, just been doing art stuff. night

sadly due to artist differences baptists youths first ever boy band decided it was best to sepearate from band member andrew curry due to alleged charges that prevent him from concentrating fully on his musical carear.
since the split andrew has formed a new band- baptist youths second ever boy band- but frankly its a amaturish venture- but does have some great choreography.

anyone else see it? its like they just got contact lenses- ok maybe not, possibly just the fact their brothers singing together etc

this is the jig saw i started and finished nearly completely by my self mark sara canning and sammy semi helped but there wernt half as commited as me!! and who says chrisitans cant have fun- jigsaws- the new goin out!

Hi, just to let my fans know what iv been up to ( ….i have fans now, 3 posts!! True one was from a family member and another was tryin to sell me Insurance from his site, but my demographics show im huge in carrick, and also in Latvia)

So got my first brief last week, its all bout me! Me me me!! All self portraiture until oct 27th- by then I need 6 drawings,6paintings,6mixed media(that’s abit of art talk) as well as a sketch book plus a load of research on artist while doing other classes like ceramics etc!! So contrary to rumours art college is no joke, am working like a trooper. Hardly leaving my room, just sleep, eat and art. Kinda like Castaway in my wee room and I’m tom hanks but without the beard ( that will prob b tried in 2nd or 3rd yr uni.) and ill mite be just as skinny as I have no desire to eat knowing Ill have to cook.( but I am eating f or the sake of mum&claire) Coincidentally theres a position free for a cook/maid open-apply within. Oh talking bout jobs, had a interview for Tescos, went well, id hire me – also had to a kind of practical 5-10mins, so had to unpack boxes?? Don’t know why, they just could have been short staffed , but handled that ok but when asked bout fashion designer(art student etc) I made a joke bout designing for George- which is Asda, not Tesco, but everything else went ok.

Sadly also this week Derek is missing presumed dead, except no one is saying dead, so hes missing presumed ‘had it’ if it is true this means that the hamster has outlived Derek , which is a surprise as the hamster should be dead ages ago ,most likely due to Derek. If you don’t know Dereks a cat,not some relative or a person.

just thought that I'd post this to show what I've made, made this for the a university project. Then we had to wear them when we went to a residential in Kilrea were we were doing team building things and canoeing etc. I got a large 'awwwww..' for my hat effort. but also got a large man-flu for my canoeing efforts.

well this was the 1st week of the great adventure, known as university (or college if its me - or tech if its my parents!) So i moved from the lovely whiles of sion mills(left isnt it pretty-alot nicer than carrickfergus) and travelled up a hour or so to mean mean streets of limavady!(right) for such a big place it all seems to close around!
so travelled up on tuesday and stayed in, what would be my house for the year, for the very first time...and spent a very lonley night all alone, as no else had moved in- well except for 3 latvians- who spent the night plotting to get me in latvian outside my door ( Latvia was the winner of the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest. The song, "I Wanna", was sung by the popular singer Marie N who also worked on the song's composition!!)

So as lectures didnt start till thursday (not so much lectures-it is art college?) didnt start till thursday so got to lie about all day in my room- 'in training' for student life. so went for a wee bit of a shop...(right) and if you look close enough you can see that I did buy apples......and 8 muffins- but a bag of apples.

so that was my first days of uni, oh when i actually did go to college they just made us fill out forms- going shoping was alot more entertaining so thats why there pictures of that on my blog.
